Peanut Butter Banana & Date Smoothie

It is said to be known that eating 6 dates a day has benefits during labor. So, I have been drinking this for the past two weeks. It is super easy to make and extremely yummy. Now 6 dates is a lot of dates in my opinion, so this is a great way to incorporate those dates in the morning. I then usually will have a Cashew Cookie Larabar to get some more dates in for the day.

Back to the smoothie, even with a frozen banana, the smoothie still seemed to not be as thick as I would hope. So, I added a small handful of ice; this seemed to thicken it up, but it did end up being more icy. I sometimes like to drink Breakfast Essentials in the mornings along with breakfast. So I liked the idea of using this mix instead of the cocoa powder. When making the smoothies, I always still ended up having little chunks of dates. But, I learned if you soak the dates for 15-30 minutes before blending, your smoothie will come out way smoother. I haven't tried it yet since I don't mind the chunks. If chunky smoothies aren't for you, give the soaking a try!
